The Ibovespa rose more than 0.5% on Monday, trading near 186,500 points and rebounding after ending the previous week in negative territory, pressured at the time by weaker international oil prices. Crude extended its decline on renewed optimism about diplomatic progress between the United States and Iran. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is expected to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week, and US President Donald Trump has signaled he is open to a meeting.

Bond yields eased as the pullback in oil prices tempered fears of broader inflationary pressures stemming from energy costs, providing some support to credit‑sensitive stocks. Financials advanced, with Itaú and Bradesco each gaining more than 1%. Utilities also traded higher, led by Axia, which climbed over 1%.

In the latest Focus Bulletin released by the Brazilian Central Bank (BCB), the market lowered its projection for the Selic rate at the end of 2026 from 13.75% to 13.50%, while slightly raising its inflation estimate for this year from 4.90% to 4.92%.
