The market is split between those who buy quietly and those who merely watch.

At the same time, aggregate open interest in perpetual crypto futures rose: according to Coinglass, it reached $160 billion, an 11-month high. That is a fundamentally important signal. Rising open interest alongside whale accumulation means that not only spot capital but also leverage is entering the market. When this happens near key resistance levels, any move tends to accelerate.

The context for these data is specific: Bitcoin is holding above $82,500 under triple pressure from geopolitics, Treasury yields, and upcoming macro releases. It was during this period — not after the uncertainty resolves — that whales increased positions. Reported accumulations by Michael Saylor, Tom Lee, and others follow the same logic: institutional capital uses turbulence as a window to enter, not a reason to exit.

However, recent attempts for Bitcoin to break above $85,000 have repeatedly failed, which could lead to a deeper technical correction in the crypto market. For that, a catalyst is needed — for example, US labour-market data expected this week.

For Bitcoin, the trading range has narrowed: supports at $82,900 and $82,200, resistances at $83,300 and $83,800.

On the buy side: a confirmed break above $83,300 gives a long targeting $83,800, where profit is taken. Entry condition — price above the 50-day moving average and the Awesome Oscillator above zero. On a false breakdown below $82,200 followed by a rebound from that zone, the first target is $83,300, with continuation to $83,800.

On the sell side: a confirmed break below $82,200 with the moving average above price and Awesome below zero opens a short below support. A false breakout above $83,800, followed by a return into the range, gives a short with the first target at $82,900 and continuation to $82,200.

For Ether, the range is: supports $2,654 and $2,632, resistances $2,674 and $2,695.

On the buy side: a confirmed break above $2,674 opens a long targeting $2,695. Alternative — a false break below $2,632 and a rebound up, with a first target of $2,674.

On the sell side: a confirmed break below $2,632 gives a short below that level. A false breakout above $2,695, followed by a return into the range, is a short with targets of $2,654 and $2,632.

As with Bitcoin, both indicators act as filters rather than standalone signals: enter only after price confirmation.

The resolution will come in the next two days: today's PCE and Friday's employment data will either confirm the whales' bet or create additional pressure that turns accumulated volume into selling pressure. Open interest of $160 billion means that whatever the outcome, the move will be sharp.
